Dr. Ketul Shah completed his primary and secondary schooling in Mumbai. He completed his undergraduate training in medicine (M.B.B.S.) from Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences, Karad, Maharashtra. He completed his post-graduate training (M.S.) in General Surgery from one of the oldest and most prestigious medical colleges in India i.e. Grant Medical College & Sir J.J. Group of hospitals, Mumbai. To further his skill, knowledge, and expertise in complex gastro-intestinal & HPB surgeries, he joined the super specialty M.Ch Surgical Gastroenterology course at N.H.L. Municipal Medical College & V.S. Hospital, Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It is the only M.Ch GI Surgery training department in Western India draining all complex cases from the whole of Gujarat and Rajasthan. He was exposed to a vast array of complex GI & HPB cases which he successfully operated and managed. After completing his super-specialty training his interest in GI & HPB cancer treatment took him to Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital, Delhi.

He worked as a post-M.Ch Fellow in GI & HPB Onco Surgery gaining wide experience in managing advanced Gastro-Intestinal Cancers. Here he also trained in doing advanced laparoscopic and Robotic surgeries for GI & HPB Cancers.

He is also trained in doing CRS + HIPEC i.e. intra operative chemotherapy. He then returned to Mumbai and worked as a Superspeciality Medical Officer at Navi Mumbai Municipal Hospital, Vashi. To further hone his surgical skills and increase the spectrum of his knowledge, he joined the Liver Transplant Team at Apollo Hospital, Navi Mumbai. He has successfully operated on both national and international patients. He has successfully operated on patients with diseases ranging from simple hernia, gall bladder stones to complex and advanced pancreatic cancer. He is also involved in day to day planning and management of patients with liver diseases. He is an integral part of the Liver Transplant Surgical Team which is involved in performing most complex liver surgeries like Living Donor, Cadaver Donor Liver Transplant Surgeries and Pediatric Liver Transplants.

Apart from his academic excellence, Dr. Ketul is an avid reader and loves to travel. He is well versed and fluent in English, Hindi, Marathi and Gujarati.
